Grandma Mae and Grandpa Ray Sr.

Hello? Hello? Is this thing on? I'm sure Grandma would not have been the one to correct her birth date and would have been just fine with everyone thinking she had Dad at 13. She wouldn't have missed having fun with that. What a great sense of humor she had, and what fun and wondeful grandparents they were.

Family News

Hi Everyone,

Well Mom seems to be thrilled with the iPad. She got it this past Saturday and is already enjoying the features. She especially enjoys YouTube and was finding clips from the old Caroll Burnett show. She and Sheila were laughing hysterically watching it. Her email is all set up and very easy to check. Even though the font on that doesn't get very big - she can use her reader to magnify it very easily. I also set up their iStore account so she can download books. She already downloaded a bestseller and is looking forward to reading with Dad in the livingroom like old times. There still is a little $ left which I have to use on cables and a surge protector (haven't gotten to that yet). I will also look into a "bluetooth" keyboard so that she can type more easliy. Any left over money can be put on their account in gift cards for book downloads. Email me if you have suggestions.

In other news - it was a bad week for dogs. Mom & Dad's dog experiment did not work out. Turns out it was probably not as house broken as advertized. Several accidents on the dining room rug, a torn up livingroom carpet, and a very impressive fence jump-escape kinda sealed the deal. Lauren helped return him - Thanks for all the work Lauren. Mom and Dad said they'll hold off for now but would still like one in the future. (Not yours, Chris. They want a drug-free dog with all its mental faculties)

Carla had a tragedy with her new dog. If you haven't heard (yeah right - Shirl is way faster than the internet) Carla addopted a puppy. She no sooner got her home, that the little thing got through a small hole in the fence and took off. After a terrible day of worry and searching, Carla got the horrible news that they found it's body at the side of Transit road - quite a bit away. So Drop her a sympathy note - she obviously feels terrible about it.

In lighter news - Kurt and Brian have started contributing to this blog. So there Sheila! People not only look at this once in a while - but we have a 30% participation rate now!!!!

Hi Duggan Nation!

It is your crazy brother/uncle/cousin from NYC!

I have been swept into a side project with one of my neighbors, who works at a big ad agency in the City. He is an animator who is putting together his own internal production division for tv commercial animation and other media. It is a company that has been in business for about 100 years (not much of an exaggeration). They have 650 offices worldwide. We've spent many a weekend night together drinking beers and talking while he's worked on his animation (well known cereal characters, etc.) slowly moving himself up the ladder. Of course we always kidded about him, but I've always said that he'll be going places. He always calls me his "Lawya!"

About a month or two ago, he started putting his production division together in NYC, and asked me if I knew anything about "Sustainability" because he has friends from CA who have celebrity friends, and other friends who are looking to help someone there who is starting his own organization for Sustainable practices (Google the term and also Green Buildings) and curriculums for schools. I told him about my environmental background and my knowledge of this business. Long story shortened, after many meetings and making new friends from CA (including meeting one of the children of a famous rock star who works with a company that uses a rodent as its mascot), I may becoming more involved with helping my friend set up something which has a chance of becoming a new phase in my career. I have just been nominated on the executive board of a Not For Profit Corporation. No pay for now, but a great cause, and possibly more later.

The reason why I'm putting this on our blog is that I need help with organizing my manic thoughts and researching and writing short articles which address the environment, earth science, sustainability, and grass roots advocacy. I'm putting it out to family members, brothers, sisters, nieces, or nephews or cousins who may be interested in a few hours here and there supporting with short articles, and research. I will also try to bring my law practice into this at some point, so Andrea may be interested, but anyone who thinks that this may be interesting should email me, so we can talk about this further. Right now you get credit on the article, and if this becomes regular, an "internship," and when it brings in $ then $. Give me a call.

That's it for now!

Love ya all!

The New TV

After a little bit of protest, Mom finally relented and Jim, Noah, Josh, Rick, and myself cleared out the old TV and cabinet and set up the new TV. We eventually asked them to leave the room
Obviously HD doesn't look its best on AMC Classic - but what the hell. It's big.
Then we spent the rest of the night finding pictures of Kevin in teal suspenders and a mustache and magnifying them for a laugh. :)

Mother's Day Brunch

Well, Mother's Day was a hit. Breakfast at Z's compliments of Dad. Followed by the big "unveiling" of the TV and roast beef dinner at Mom & Dad's. Hope everyone had as nice a Mother's Day as we had!

The Cannon Boys - Part Deux

Great visit with the boys - they are like seeing Me & Chris like 35years ago.
